WHO WE ARE
On one level, much of what we buy is functional. Yet, at the same time, our choices – in deliberately selecting one product over another – reflect aspects of ourselves. Art is no different. The art we buy is as much about who we are as it is about the artists who create it. Aisling is about creativity, vision, and statement – our artists', customers', and the world's around us.
ooo
ASHLIN will be for-profit and function as a business that sells reproduced art products. In other words, we will take digital art and photographed traditional art from artists, print it as stickers or posters, and sell it. Later on, we plan to expand to pins, patches, notebooks, clothes, etc. Artists will receive a small commission from each sale.
The business will function as a gallery of sorts in that we will handle marketing, production, shipping, promotion events, and more. However, while galleries only deal with original pieces, prestigious clientele, and high price premiums, this organization will be selling reproduced artwork at an affordable cost. Our focus on supporting a limited portfolio of artists with "vision" develops an emotional dimension/significance to our products. Our offering of useful products such as notebooks and posters (relevant on college campuses where students seek to personalize their living spaces) creates functional demand.
An essential part of our job will be aiding artists in communicating and defining their "vision" – i.e., their message, point of view, and relevance. This will be to create pieces that customers will then be able to identify with themselves – that is, creating works that have meaning and a statement.
**Please note: Although this organization will eventually be for-profit, all funds earned within the first 6-18 months of sales will be delegated to the company treasury as operational funds.
